"Dad," says Danneel, "you're being ridiculous."

Jared is trying to sneak candy from the bowl as Jensen fills it; Jensen hits his hand. "Bad Jared."

Jared pouts. "There is no way the kids are going to need all this candy."

"Can you guys back me up here?" asks Danneel.

"What's the problem?" asks Jared.

"Dad says it's dangerous for us to give out candy."

"Seriously?" asks Jensen.

"Look we don't know who could be under those masks," says Jeff.

"But we do know they're less than twice my size," Jared points out.

"Jared," says Jensen, "if you use this as another opportunity to tell me how you could beat up twelve five year olds, I'm going to--" he glances at Jeff and leans in to whisper, "never have sex with you again."

Like Jeff doesn't know he and Jared have sex. But whatever. Jensen needs, for his own sanity, to pretend that no one but Danneel has any idea that their apartment only has one bed in it.

Jared turns his head to give Jensen a kiss.

"Total lie," he says, grinning. "And, I'm just saying, even if they swarmed me, I'd last a while."

Jensen rolls his eyes. "Whatever. But, yeah, Jeff, that's taking paranoid and crazy to new levels."

"Need I remind you guys that Danneel's last boyfriend turned out to be a robot?" he asks.

"Yeah," says Danneel, "but not a trick-or-treater!"

"One of them could be an attack midget, I guess," says Jared, thoughtfully.

Jensen elbows him. "Don't encourage Jeff's insanity."

"I'm not insane!"

"Do you want me to call dad?" asks Jared. "Because I know he left you in charge, but I bet he'd vote with us on this."

Jeff sighs. "If you guys get attacked--"

"You told us so," Jared and Danneel chime.

Jared goes for the candy again and Jensen grabs his hand. "No."

Jared sighs. "Should've sided with Jeff. More candy for me."

Jensen shakes his head. "You're all heart, Jared."

Jared beams. "That's me!"

Danneel shakes her head. "How is it you two manage to be disgustingly adorable even when you're fighting?"

"We're awesome," says Jared promptly.

"We are awesome," Jensen agrees.

Jared kisses Jensen as a blatant distraction technique, but Jensen sees right through it and drags Jared's hand to his waist instead.

Jared smiles into the kiss and doesn't seem to mind at all.
