Jensen is kind of impressed at how well-conditioned he is.
"It's New Year's Eve, you had a party, and our house is a disaster zone," says Jared. "What's there to explain?"
"Um," says Nate. "How it's really not my fault?" he tries.
"Okay, yeah," says Jared. "This'll be good."
"No one got drunk," says Nate.
"Did people get tipsy?" asks Jensen.
"I provided no alcohol," says Nate.
"That's really not the same thing."
"How about weed?" asks Jensen.
"If Nate has weed, I want some."
"Dad!" says Nate, scandalized. Jensen snickers. Seventeen-year-olds are hilarious. "You can't smoke weed!"
"Why not?"
"You're my dad."
"I smoked weed before I was your dad."
"Wasn't Nate explaining how this totally isn't his fault and he shouldn't have to clean?"
"Or replace my broken plate?"
"What broken plate?" asks Nate, too innocently.
"The one I found crammed into the neighbor's garbage," says Jared.
"You guys left me alone to have a party," says Nate, accusingly. "You had to expect that this would happen."
"We went to Danneel's and called five times," says Jared.
"The fourth and fifth times you were clearly on something."
"So we actually came back and you didn't notice we were here. And passed out in the garage."
Nate groans. "I'm grounded forever, aren't I."
"You were pretty responsible," says Jensen. "You know, for a drunk, high kid."
"Tipsy," Nate mutters darkly.
"You're cleaning this whole house," says Jensen.
"Today," Jared adds. "While hungover."
"How long am I grounded for?" asks Nate.
"Two weeks."
"Deal."
Nate goes and finds a Gatorade to chug before he gets started, and Jared leans in close. "You think we can find his weed?"
"We are not finding his weed."
Jared sighs. "You're no fun."
"Someone has to be the adult in this household."
There's another crash from the kitchen.
"Dad, those aren't really expensive plates, right?" Nate calls, sounding worried, and Jared dissolves helplessly into laughter.
"Clearly, this is going to be an awesome year," says Jensen with a sigh.
"Clearly," Jared agrees, grinning.
I love the way you write Jared and Jensen (especially in this verse) and Nate too ♥
Teenage Nate = hilarious and adorable. Hijinks are always fun. I just love this whole thing! You are fantastic!
